istos film is a joint venture of the trilingual (Turkish, Greek, English) istos publishing that was founded in 2012 in Istanbul, aiming to produce pioneering publications and young, innovative, daring, art-house, short or feature length fiction or documentary films (since 2014). As a collective coming together from various backgrounds, we work in close collaboration with our talents.

ANNAMARIA ASLANOĞLU holds BA in political science, MA in history. She started working as assistant in documentaries, then she worked as AD in various short and feature films independent Turkish cinema, such as Eye Am (2013), The Blue Wave (2014) and Sivas (2014). She’s among the founders of istos publishing & film (f. 2012). She’s the associate producer of Innocence of Memories by Grant Gee; the producer of the short film Tuesday (dir. Ziya Demirel, premiered in the Official Competition of Cannes Film Festival 2015), of The Gulf (dir. Emre Yeksan, premiered in Venice FF Critics’ Week 2017) and the Biennale College Cinema funded film Yuva (dir. Emre Yeksan, premiered in Venice Film Festival 2018), Phases of Matter (dir. Deniz Tortum, IFFR 2020), Zuhal (dir. Nazlı Elif Durlu, Tallinn Black Nights FF) and Ela and Hilmi with Ali (dir: Ziya Demirel, Istanbul FF). She’s member of the EAVE and EWA networks.

ZEYNEP EKMEKCİ worked as the associate producer in Zeynep Dadak’s feature documentary, a Turkey-Germany co-production, Invisible to the Eye (2020 – DokuFest). She worked in the productions of several international films including Levan Akın’s upcoming feature film Passage and the first feature of Aslı Özarslan, Ellbogen. Currently she is producing Pınar Yorgancıoğlu’s debut feature film Those Who Whistle After Dark, a Turkey-Bulgaria-Germany co-production, and Irmak Karasu’s documentary, Kızıltoprak. She is a Sarajevo Talents alumni.
